Sopa OAKLAND

Born as a pandemic idea, Sopa was a soup delivery business concept that would bring homemade soups to your doorstep. The logo was inspired by photos of painted signs and walls from a trip to Mexico as well as Mexican letterpress posters. The irregularity and charm of the letterpress posters brought about the idea to create the logo by hand. The vibrancy of walls and signs from street photography inspired the color palette. To achieve a woodblock printed look I experimented with cutting and scanning paper, carving linoblocks and using scratch board. A combination of scratchboard for the “bowl icon” and cut paper for the lettering created the final logo.
